Winter Session '13 Schedule

Published

Good Morning All,

I am registered to take Bio 70-Science of Nutrition & HPE 12- Concepts/Wellness for Winter Session '13, which starts January 3rd. Has anyone taken Nutrition? If so how was it?

Thanks

We have a similar course called Healthy Lifestyles. It's all about nutrition, exercise, preventing CAD, etc. Pretty straightforward course. Not too difficult at all. We were required to complete a customized nutrition/exercise plan based on particular patient scenarios as a semester long project. Plus we did a personalized plan. Everyone ended up losing a little bit of weight as a side benefit of the class :)

I took Nutrition as well, and mine was almost identical to what Soprano described their course as. It was fairly easy and pretty straightfoward stuff.

WOW..seems fun..Thanks guys!!:)

My nutrition class was totally different than the one described above. Mine was a science course to boot. I had to learn the break down and digestion of all the macro and micro nutrients in the body (a lot of A&P), be able to identify what peoples diets were lacking from symptoms, know what vitamins and minerals worked together for peak health, different nutritional related diseases etc. At my school Nutrition is ranked as one of the hardest science classes. I'm really jealous of you guys! But, I loved my nutrition class, I had an awesome professor for it who really loved the subject and the science of it, and managed to pull an A by studying a lot.

How long is your winter session. Mine is only 10 days and I'm only taking 1 class.

My winter session is for 6 weeks.

6 weeks! That's awesome, I changed my comment above to explain what my nutrition class was like, I didn't in my original comment!

Thanks for the info!! :) Actually during winter session there is a 3 week express. However, most people tend to take the 6 week session. Just playing it safe..lol

We don't have a nutrition class or anything like it at my school. That would be an interesting class to take though!

Really depends on the style of the class, professor, and content. Mine was online and professor did not get any answers from the book!

Holy smokes! 10 days for Winter session? Even the latter, 3 weeks is tough. Our Spring session is 16 weeks long. I only have 4 classes in this semester of nursing school. When I was pre-nursing, we also had 16 weeks semesters but I had 5-6 classes (13-17 credits) every semester. I like having more time to allow all the information to sink in.

Kudos to you for being able to take such a condensed class!
