Will this still be acceptable?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

One of my school's prequisite is Intro to Organic Chem 1, but there are no more avaible seats left.

So should I just take Orangic Chem instead? Will this still be acceptable?

Obviously, I could wait until Monday to ask my intended school but there are only 2 slots left in Organic Chem and I just rather not take that risk. :)

That's a question to ask your advisor, it's going to vary from school to school.

You could always enroll in the course to save your seat and ask your advisor. If the class won't work for you, it's easy to drop the class.

Also if you only need an intro class I'd consider looking at local community colleges that might offer it if your school would take a transfer course. If you are vying to get in a program based on your GPA I personally would prefer to take a chance on an intro rather than full blown chemistry.

Intro to Organic Chem is a lighter version of O-Chem intended for non-science majors and for prospective allied health professions students (nursing, sonography, respiratory therapy, etc).

Organic Chemistry is the real deal, intended for empiric science majors and for pre-med, pre-dental, and pre-veterinary students.

The Commuter

Okay... That makes perfect sense.

But I have another question: Should I also pay for the lab course as well for 1 credit hour if my #1 school doesn't require it, but my #2 backup school does?

Is it also possible for me to just take the lab next year if I don't get into the school I want?

Usually, you need to take the lab concurrent with the lecture. That seems to be the standard for many schools, but YMMV. If it were me, I would take it along with the lecture so the material is fresh in your mind, especially if you know it's a requirement for a school you're looking into.
