Why the MBA in nursing grad programs?

Current RN/BSN student here. Lately, I've been looking online at grad programs (MSN, DNP, etc.) for the future. I'm seeing a lot of dual degree programs being offered such as an MSN/MBA program or a DNP/MBA program. I am wondering why getting an MBA as a nurse seems like such a big deal? I can only imagine that some nurse manager positions would require an MBA to understand the "business side" of things, but otherwise, I don't really see the point of an MBA. Anyone know why there are so many programs like these?

    It is to train the student for upper management roles inside or outside of the nursing service lines. A MBA or MHA is pretty much considered a necessary prerequisite for such roles.
