I dont think you can work as an RN unless you have it showing current. Do you have any paperwork stating they have issued you a new licence yet?

I would imagine it would take a couple of weeks at best for the check to be processed, I guess it would depend on when it expires, it sounds like it could have expired?? I thought you had 90 days or so, but I forget, I would call the State Health Dept on monday and see how long it takes and then call the BON and see if your in our out of compliance, good luck

i am an R.N. in New YorkState, and renewed my license the end of April. Going on line today, i find it is still not showing as registered as of May 2. Can i work thru the weekend as an R.N.? Or do i have to call my licensing bureau on Monday.... HELP!

I had this happen in NV a few times. While they were in the process of processing my licenses (GN, to temporary, to official permit), my info would NOT show on the website. You can always call them to confirm, though.

If the check has been received, you're current. At least, in CA you would be. If you expired at the end of April and the check has not cleared, you are not current and cannot work.

NYS is notoriously slow at renewing. Did you submit evidence of infection control continuing education? Keep calling them. If you're current license is expired ... you'll need to apply for temporary permit while NYS processes you. Persistance! And get a 3 month jump on it next time around. Peace.
