Which RPN program would you recommend?

Hi there,

I applied to RPN programs at Georgian, Mohawk, Conestoga, and George Brown.. just wondering what the differences were, pros, cons and overall experience if you attended one of these schools. Please don't hold back information it would help me either way if it was good or bad..

Thanks :)

There are always enough placements for the students. you have to get the legally required number of hours and everyone does. There really isn't a "selection" of placements. You do where and when they tell you generally.Plus placements are done in groups so they can't have students spread all over the place. You have to go where others are going except for your final consolidation.

Exactly. There are hundreds of areas one can work in as a nurse, so yes some might complain if they only got to go to a few different places, but that's the reality.

And like Lori said, you 100% get out of it what you put in. It really doesn't matter at all where you go, you end up writing the same exam after its all over.

I am French. So I was not focusing on one of them. I would said go for probably George Brown or Mohawk. Their program since interesting from what I read. I can not really said some pro or cons about those program :S. Hoping I try my best. If you want it in French, I would recommend Collège Boréal over La Cité. It is not to competitive to get in has well. After working has a RPN, I would recommend the bridge over the RN for a better salary and also more roles, since RPN are limit with roles. Can not do the ICU and other stuff. They can work in the mental health, residence-where old people live (sorry, I can not said a better word for that), hospital in the surgery, maternity and more... but they only work with patient who have a stable condition (so not like those who will probably die or something like that).
