Which nursing school should.....

Published

Hello everyone,

I am new at this so please bear with me. I have been accepted to two nursing schools (Helen Fuld School of Nursing-Trenton and Rutgers University School of Nursing-New Brunswick). I am totally confused about which one to accept. I already have a B.S. in Biology and my hope is to become a certified nurse midwife.

Is it also true that there is a difference bwt. nursing degrees from college/univer. and nursing degrees from schools like Helene Fuld?

Thank you for your help.

Helene Fuld School of Nursing is a diploma program. You do not earn a degree. Since your eventual goal is to be a CNM, you will need a bachelor's degree. For this reason, I would choose Rutgers over the diploma program. It is possible to bridge from RN to BSN then continue with the graduate program, but that only adds time and additional obstacles to achieving your goals. Hope that helps

Thank you, it does help a lot. I have other things have to put into consideration (financial cost, children, and commute), but I now understand the difference bwt both schools.
