Which BON?? Help!!!

Hi guys, im so confuse right now... i badly need your advice... i have been searching for answers here in internet and thank god there is All Nurses.. so here's my story.. my agency discouraged us to apply at CA BON because they told us that california wont give the license unless we have the SS Number, and it will expire after 2 years.. (some say its 3 years??) so before we can be in US my nclex will be no use. unfortunately, i am already eligible in Cali long before i applied in my agency. they first advise us to apply in New Mexico BON because they said that the processing is much faster and the license will be given even without SS number.. then this year, they told us to apply in New york bon (the facility is based in new york) because new mexico is slowing down in its processing.. and because of retrogression there will be a lesser chance for us to go to US early than we expect.. so better apply directly to ny bon.

My problem is which one should i choose? CA, NM, or NY?

Please help me guyzz!! im planning to take nclex within this year... Thank u very much..

Suggest that perhaps you change agencies since they are giving you bad advice all the way around. Which agency did you sign with?

NY requires the CVS to be done, even to endorse. And that takes months to do, we are talking six to eight months on average. And that is just for the CVS to get done and you to get approval to sit for the exam. Defrinitely not fast.

Is this agency actually paying the bill for everything? How long ago did you actually sign with them? Has anything been done yet at all for you? How many months has this been going on for?

If going the NY route, you are going to be hard pressed to take the exam this year............you also have to consider the few month wait to get an exam date scheduled.

Suggest that you have a little talk with your agency......

Thank you very much ms suzanne4 for the reply. :) yes, they pay the bill for everything including the cvs. they will reimburse the ielts and nclex excluding cgfns. i signed the contract last september, submitted my cgfns certificate by october.. but i havent receive my notice of receipt yet.. is this something to do with the retrogression? i also would like to ask ms suzanne if i can pursue the CA bon? i already spent for the application. is it really true that after 2 years it will expire if i still dont have SS number? or i can activate it again in case after 2 years im still here in phils? thank you very much..

CA application stays valid for three years, not two.

Did they ever submit the I-140 in the first place for you? Do you know that for a fact that they started the process? It has nothing at all to do with the retrogression, but I would verify with them that they have actually started the process in the first place. They could not submit anything without the CGFNS Certificate to be included, so you are only speaking of a couple of months in the first place.

Sure you can go the route of CA, but you will still need to go thru the CVS process to endorse to NY, no way around that.

Im not really sure if they have submitted my I-140.. there is no progress yet in my application. but the agency said they did submit it already. and they will pay my visa screen and cvs once they receive my notice of receipt.

Ms. Suzanne, how about in NM board is it a good idea to apply my NCLEx there? is it true that they can start the endorsement to NY in case i pass my exam and have the license even im still here in phils? because im not quite sure if this is true or just a rumor. Because if yes, then i better apply in NM than to continue the CA since im not sure when the retrogression ends. hehe..

Did they give you your case number? If the agency really filed the petition for you they should have your case number w/in 1-2 weeks or so and they should have given you that as proof that they filed it for you. You can also use that case number to monitor you own case status in http://www.uscis.gov.

Hi lawrence! :) thank you for the reply. :) im reading almost all the posts here and noticed that you, together with ms suzanne, have been helping nurses even without service fee. hehe.. from the bottom of my heart, thank you very much... :) And also to all the nurses here helping each other!! :)

well, they didnt give me any case number yet... i was thinking before that it will only take about a week or more for me to receive it. its already 3 months now since i submitted all the requirements, but i dont hear any improvements in my application. what should i do? that's the reason why i want to take nclex because i dont want to waste time (while waiting for the papers to be done) and it is advisable to take it while im still here in philippines...

You need to go thru the CVS process to endorse to NY, so you may as well just get that done, no way around that if that is where you are going to work.
