Just curious where you all work right now? Max, Med, Min security? Any others I am missing? I have also seen some surgery centers for the BOP...can anyone pass on anymore info about that?

Also, from your experience, is there a greater number of nurses inside corrections that are male or female?

I work in a county jail and we have all levels of security.

Most of our nurses are female. Off hand I can think of 6 or 8 male nurses that are there (all but one are RN's and at least 2 are agency).

Whats the percentage of males in nursing, like 10%.

In school 2 years ago, I was 1 of 4 men, with 26 women.

Prisons i worked at, I think the percentage of men is closer to 40 percent.

Alot of us used to be corpman/medics in the military.
