What would you do?

I remember wanting to be a nurse since the age of 16, it was all I dreamed about.

I became a mother at the age of 17, and quickly gave into my fathers wishes of me entering the business world. I have now 10 years working in finance, while I make a very decent living, I find myself not happy... I feel as if I gave up on my dreams (which technically I did). For the past 3 years all I think about is going to school and becoming a nurse, but then I'm faced with the questions of how will I pay for my house? How will I survive? Will my kids suffer? Am I being selfish?

Going into nursing would mean taking a large pay cut anywhere from $20,000-$30,000 (I live in central FL)

what would you do? I want to sign up for next semester.

If you have figured out how you're going to pay for school and support your family at the same time, go for it. If you cannot pay for your schooling AND support your family, school is probably not a good move at this time. But you can always start SAVING for school and taking pre-requisites.

I have over 3 years worth of volunteering. It's a passsion that I've always had. I'm just concerned about the financial aspect of the harsh paycut

I have registered for pre-requisites started next semester in a community college. I have over 3 years worth of experience in a hospital, what's sad is that when I'm in the hospital I have feel at peace, fulfilled... nothing like when I'm at work, even though I'm good at what I do, it's just work.

Yeah.

That should be the clincher!
