What would you do?

I would've spoke up. Being a doctor isn't as glamorous as they think. Plus they have to work their butts off to make that much money. They aren't gonna walk out of med school & residencies making $200,000/year. Hah! Plus they have a lot of liability on their hands. On top of that there if a huge difference between nursing & medicine. Sounds like you need new friends.

200k a year maybe long after their residency but how much of that will go right into their malpractice and school loans? Man, will they ever be surprised.

And these people will be doctors? Apparently they have no respect for people... I would find another group to hang with but just after I spouted a witty retort.

Just ignore them. It's not worth your breath. I actually had a friend of a friend who is a 2nd year med student tell me that the patient is THEIR patient, it is the nurse's job to follow their ORDERS because at the end of the day, the doctor has the final say and basically the nurse has no opinion.

I wanted to give him a piece of my mind and tell him how ignorant and off base that was. But why? It'd fall on deaf ears. I'll just let him really immerse himself in to the clinical setting and get a real rude awakening, especially if hes walking around with that attitude.

They sound extremely immature and are clearly out of touch with reality. Highly doubt they have what it takes to make it through med school. I would just let their comments roll off my shoulder.
