What is it like?

For those of you who have completed, or are going through a BSN online course: What is it like? Have you been able to do it successfully?

4 weeks from completion at Grand Canyon University (GCU) RN to BSN program. I have for the most part enjoyed the online process. At GCU each class is 5 weeks in duration..yep a full semester in 5 weeks, but it is very doable, especially if one is a strong paper writer. Much prefer online that driving to a classroom!

I have seen that GCU has only a pass, fail grade. And if you pass your grade is a B. Is it true that B is the only passing grade I can get? Is it possible to get an A? The problem is that I want to go to NP school, and having a bunch of Bs on my transcript wont look good.

No..we get grade (A,B,C)_ which are based on whatever percentage u get! I think that is Western Governors that does what u speak of......not GCU

I am currently attending University Louisiana Lafayette online RN to BSN program. I started in October, 2014 and am scheduled to finish in Dec, 2015 (currently have 5 credits and need only the last 6 credit class to finish). Classes are 7 weeks which is okay for each nursing class of 4 credits, but the 3 credit gen ed classes were tough. 100% online and I felt instructors were approachable and would return emails or questions within 36 hours. Also my, application was processed pretty quickly so if you need help contact the adviser or recruiter and they will get back to asap.

It's Western Governors University (WGU) that utilizes the pass/fail competency system.

It is impossible to earn an 'A' grade at WGU due to the nature of competency-based education. By the way, I completed my BSN degree online through WGU and enjoyed the experience. I paid $5,800 in tuition and fees to complete my degree in 10 months.

I was admitted to an MSN program at a regional state university with my WGU degree. In addition, many WGU grads are enrolled in reputable NP programs.
