I just finished first semester nursing school and went to talk to local hospital recruiter. Looks like I have three options/openings as far as what Unit I want to work in (Nurse Tech II): E.R., Med./Surg., or ICU.
Im guessing ICU or E.R. would give me the most experience, but just wanted some feedback from people that like where they work.
is there usually any pay difference btw the units? does experience as Nurse Tech II count as what masters programs consider "one-two years experience in critical care or trauma" or do you have to have that experience as a RN.
Thanks for any help! - Devon

I have a friend who is a nurse tech in ER and she loves it--plus it has helped her TONS in school--I swear, she knows everything. Med/surg would be out for me. ICU might be interesting but I was a unit sec there and was stressed out! haha.
