Does your school not have a list of what classes you must take before entering the program? It looks you should prob start taking some science classes, like a&p or micro. maybe a psychology class.

Your best bet would be to check the college website.

But, alot of nursing programs require you take

Biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, psychology, healthcare terminology, math, english and some others that i cant remember right now.

but it just depends on your school.

I am confused about it since they didn't put any specific subject. They didn't even put american history and speech but they told me I need to take that. One of my classmate also take biology class and her course is nursing but my husband says I don't need to take biology. I am confused in everything.

I went onto HCC's website and dug around a little. Here is the LPN Admissions page: http://www.hindscc.edu/Departments/health_related_professions/practical_nursing/Admissions.aspx

Here is the catalog link: http://www.hindscc.edu/Documents/Catalog/2009-10%20Catalog/2009-10%20Catalog.pdf?openelement#page=288?.... look on page 45. You need AP 1&2 and Sociology for a starters.

smith2008, you need to do some digging and if I were you, talk to an admissions counselor to get the full low down on what you need.

Good luck!

I am at the beginning stages of the core classes for the RN program. So far I have all of my math, english and principles of psychology. In the spring I am taking A&P I, sociology and kinesology (Fitness for Life I). After spring I need psychology life span, micro, pharmacology, A&P II, speech and one Arts/Humanity class. I am hoping to apply for the RN program for fall of 2011. I want to get as many of these core classes out of the way. If you are going to Lone Star Montgomery College like me you need to make an "A" in A&P I or II, English and Psychology as this is part of the 12 point system for being accepted into the RN program. I hope this helps you out. It is very competitive.
