What to do after BSN?

I am currently finishing my BSN and thinking about what to do afterward. What have you who have decided to go to grad school done after graduation? I want to work in an ER once I get my license...but I was wondering...what Masters degree do I get after BSN that will make me more valuable in the ER, or is it really pointless? I have looked high and low, and it's all just furthering the BSN route or going toward midwife or NP...and I dont think I want to do either of those.

So--those that are furthering your education, what are you doing? Where are you planning on going?

I would work for awhile while you explore your options. That way you won't waste any time and money going down the wrong MSN path.

I agree with caliotter. Get some significant clinical nursing experience, see where your interests lie over time, and find out more about all the career tracks and options available, instead of jumping into something right away that may not hold your interest or serve your needs over time.

Aloha!

I am glad I found this site hoping that somebody

would help me decide to take RN.

But my concern, I am small and I don't know if RN is the one for me.

Or after finish RN do I get a job?

Thank you so much guyz...

To the OP, there are a couple of programs that have ER type nurse practitioner programs, if you wanted do something like that.

Addy, your question may be more appropriate in the general nursing forum; this is for folks looking to get masters/doctorates/PhDs, etc. In regards to size, there is a lot of technology out there that assists with obese patients. I personally work with sick babies and the heaviest patient I've had so far has been about 11 pounds--definitely doable for smaller sized folks.
