WGU statistics course changing?

I have recently been accepted to WGU, scheduled to start my orientation on 3/15/16. I have seen online that WGU has supposedly made the applied healthcare statistics class "easier" and more user friendly. Has anyone else heard this? I have been studying basic stats for a month and hopefully this will be the first class I tackle![emoji22]

Don't know if it will change in next month, but the current course is very reasonable. I've taken stats before (over 5yrs ago, so had to retake), and am good with math, but I'll finish the course in less than a week. Course tests your understanding of the concepts, not your ability to do the math.

Awesome. Thanks! I suck at math so we will see! Failure is not an option for me.

I found the statistics (cjc1) on YouTube and the old class honestly doesn't look that bad! I have a week to learn it all [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

The worst part of stats is how scared it makes everyone. It's really not a terribly class. Repetition is the key though. Repeat the chapters and quizzes until you get it. Good luck!

During my enrollment in the program (May 2014 to March 2015), the course had been changed from applied healthcare statistics to an introductory probability and statistics class (CJC1). Is it changing again?

Yes. ATMs of this month it changed.

Thanks for the video info... I will check it out also. I want to get a head start on things :).

I contacted a course mentor to ask about the changes, I was told that they just updated the master list of videos. I found the videos very helpful and passed stats with an 86. I recommend the cohorts, I did the 3 week one and they email them to you as pre recorded videos.

This may be a silly question but can you get emailed the videos faster than the 3 week cohorts?

Not sure about that. But I actually learn more from the master videos than the cohorts.

Okay good to know. I tried signing up for the cohort but it didn't work. I need to go back through and see what happened. I love the master video set. It is so helpful!!!!

I recently took this course. They say if you pass all the checkpoints in the textbook with an 80 or better you will pass the exam. My student mentor really pressured me with this class, I was warned that the remediation if you fail is really bad. She made me take all three pas event though I passed them all with room to spare. I think she made me more nervous than necessary as I passed the exam with a score in the 90's and wasted a lot more time than needed. Watch all of the cohorts and class videos and be sure to study the terms. You only need a 61 to pass and there were about 65 questions on the exam.
