Specializes in Critical Care.

I have no idea, but good luck. I have ahd the opportunity to work with plenty being that I work in one of the critical care units at WJ. I would say out of 10 students maybe 1.5 might have a clue, and that is because they had medical backfield. Im not trying to discourage, but apply your self and learn all you can. Most of the students I dealt with had no ambition to learn.

I heard that applicants usually receive letters around the end of October. I've applied to the west jeff location as well so I'm waiting on that. Another thing is that they extended the application due date to September 15th so I don't know if that affects acceptance letters or not. They also put an ad out in Lafayette for students to apply. I'm thinking they do not have enough applicants or the applicants they do have are not that qualified. I wonder why they would extend the due date and put in an ad somewheres. Also, if you look at the OLOL website they don't have the west jeff location on there as an option. They only list east jeff, new orleans & baton rouge. I really wonder what's going on. Anyways, good luck to you junestudent09!

yeah...i noticed that they removed the west jefferson option on their website too. I was wondering about that. I wasn't even aware that they extended the deadline to september 15th. I tried to get all my paperwork in for the august 15th deadline, minus one recommendation letter. i sent in a total of 5 recommendations as of now. i'm anxiously waiting for that acceptance letter. i agree with you that they probably don't have enough applicants if they extended the deadline and are advertising the program.

Well, I go to the Lake right now and when I dropped off my recommendation letters I overheard everything about the extension and advertising. They said as long as the application is done before aug. 15th you should be fine. All the letters, transcripts, etc should be sent in asap. So I'm pretty sure you're fine with that. But then again, they always say one thing, then change it up later. I'm also hoping they don't do interviews!

Has anyone heard anything from OLOL about the program in Marrero? Has anyone received an acceptance letter yet?

Sincerely,

Anxiously Awaiting :nurse:

I got into the OLOLC Spring 2010 class! Only thing is I thoguht I was applying to West Jeff and my acceptance letter says it is at Tulane Medical Center??? I'm confused. I see they removed West Jeff from their website. Anyone else have a clue what is going on? But, regardless, I am thrilled I got in where ever it is!

Me too! Mines also said I got accepted to the Tulane Medical Center. From what I heard they took the West Jefferson location down because they were still trying to find out what hospital they were gonna work with for clinicals. I'm guessing they couldn't work it out with the west jeff hospital from before and made a contract with Tulane. Just my guess. Congrats to you ccrows8. See you at orientation!
