Joe, hope you have a good time at the restaurant.

The bean dish was really easy to make and I've made similar dishes many times.  I used my own home made veggie broth that is salt free since I'm supposed to be on a 2 gm NA diet.

I was always the leader and organizer in my social group, arranging for dinners out, concerts and parties.  When I stopped they moved on without me.  I sometimes miss having a tribe and I should make more of an effort but wish I would get some invites sometime.

I "passed" the dermatology exam with no recommendations other than use sunscreen.  Good to know since I spent a good deal of my 20's and 30's in the sun, primarily as a runner (sometimes with no shirt in the extreme Florida sun and humidity).  She said I had a couple of "wisdom spots" which I'd never heard of but I get that just means I'm old.

Here in Florida at Publix, a grocery store chain,  "Pub Subs", I.e. their subs are crazy popular.  They have some vegan options but I ordered an Italian sub yesterday via their app and gave them 30 minutes extra because it was dinner time and they are always busy.  It wasn't there after an hour so I walked out.  The last time I ordered a few weeks ago I had paid for it and it wasn't there either but I stayed while they made it since I'd paid for it.  This time I complained to management and don't expect much but wanted to express my disappointment.  I had some veggie burgers at home and had that.  Probably for the best as subs are salty and not healthy.

Not much else going on today.  Going to meal prep and hopefully work out.  

Good Morning, and Good Grief! Last night after I put Nannie to bed.....20 minutes after that, I went back to the den to turn the electric fireplace off and the dehumidifier on....there was Nannie, coming out of her room....and she had already made her bed up again! I told her I had JUST got her into bed and there was NO reason to make her bed up if she was just going to the bathroom (again)....she said "Well I only had to go a little bit." Yah, like that even makes sense. I steered her back to the bed, pulled down the covers and made sure she got in UNDER the covers. It was useless to do, but I explained to her that when she made her bed and then slept on top of it, the urine soaked through all the sheets and blankets and then I had to wash it all again; said there was no reason at all to sleep ON TOP of the made bed and I REALLY wished she would STOP doing that. Of course, all I got was an "I'm sorry", which means she knew I was not thrilled with her, but the reason for it 'did not compute'. In a few minutes I will go down to get her up and dressed, so I will see what she did during the rest of her night. ?

I plan to go out after she drops off into her after-breakfast nap, to pick up a few "personal" items (for me). I have to call the pharmacy to see if they got refill re-orders from the doc, but I doubt if they have gone through yet. If they haven't, then my trip will be a shorter one. No sense in putting it off any longer, so I'm off here and will come back by later on.

It is 60 degrees and sorta rainy. No sun predicted today. Booooo!

Not too much later.....

So Nannie had gotten up during the night and put her wet underpad in the washing machine, THEN she put on 2 dry pullups OVER her wet one and pads; THEN she made her bed and laid down on top of it....but not before she put a towel over the made-up bed, so I guess something sunk into her brain about not getting the bedclothes wet by sleeping on top of them. She was bare-legged, as I suspected she would be. She didn't want to change her wet jerseys, "those are my favorite ones." But, they are in the washing machine now, so I told her she'd have to wear something dry. At least I found a pale purple turtleneck and a maroon jersey to wear over it, which made her happy, and she had to show me her burgundy color nails and how they 'went with' the top I had put on her, and with her shoes. Whoopee. She sure is enamored now with the various shades of purple and eggplant....it used to be pinks, but now it is purples. Then she wanted me to observe that her shoes matched too, and I said, "yes, I've seen them AND your nails, too." Those two pairs of shoes SiL got her are the only ones she'll wear now, which is fine, but she sits and stares at her shoes alllll the time! Weird.

I am waiting for her to start her nap, but first she has to look out in the yard...."There's something gray out there". Yes, it's a gray squirrel. And yes, the grass looks wet because it IS wet. And no, the sun isn't out and shining.  Then she drew my attention to Momo's empty plate, "Yes, because she just ate all her breakfast, and I will take the plate back upstairs in a minute." Aaaannnnnd....back to her staring at her shoes. Maybe they will hypnotize her to sleep? One can only hope! 

Good afternoon. Where did the morning go? I slept late after a restless night. That's a nice perk of retirement. It's raining, so I did not go to volunteer at the demo garden. I threw some clothes in the washer, cleaned up the kitchen. I took a close look at the budget, to be sure I can make the property tax and income tax payments without needed to tap savings. The rain is almost stopped, so the dogs and I are going for a long walk. Tonight, we are going to a community meeting to talk about a safe parking place that is proposed for unhoused people. Many neighbors are upset, but I know how tough housing is to get around here. dd works for an agency that helps with that, and there is a huge shortage. 

I played online trivia with youngest ds last night. We got first place, even though we couldn't spell Giannis Antetokounmpo. But I did recognize the theme music for Succession and True Crime. 

I've heart Dr. Pimple Popper call seborrheic keratoses  "wisdom spots". We get them as we get older, dh has a lot on his back. I love the sun, but I never used to burn. Even now, I seldom burn, but I'm better about sunscreen and hats. 

I was late getting back from my errands because there had been a 2-ambulance wreck on the road I usually take. After the 2nd ambulance, I turned around and had to go on the by-pass, which is in NO WAY a short-cut. I hope the accident victims were't terribly hurt or worse.

Anyway, Nannie was awake when I got here. She said she had to go to the bathroom, so I took her there and told her to let me know when she was through. After 5 minutes I went in and said "Are you through yet?" She told me she didn't have to do anything, so, pants back up and back out to the recliner. The 5 minutes after that, she said she had to go to the bathroom. I told her she had just been in the bathroom and said she didn't have to go. "Well, I do now!" So back in to the bathroom, and she finally peed, then pulled her own britches up and came out to the recliner again.

While that was going on, Momo decided to pee on the sofa....and thank God for underpads. I just pulled the wet stuff off and put down another underpad and one of the cushion covers that had already been washed and dried.

This must be Pee-City! 

The Moroccan bean dish sounds good. 

Today was "Caregivers Day" at the state capitol and the Oklahoma Hospital Association had lunch for us then sent us all to lobby our representatives. It was kind of interesting. We watched a committee meeting of the house public health committee. Our representative is the chairwoman of that committee.

There were snow flurries in OKC this morning but by the time I got there it was rain. 

Hubs has a lot of those seborrheic keratoses on his back. So... wisdom spots, huh? 

Ahhhh, then I ALSO am WISE! ?
