Hi I dont have an answer to your question but I would like to ask you about how it went at the application meeting? I will be going September 20 and would just like to know what to expect.

i recently applied to the wcccd nursing program that starts in jamuary.

they did not tell us when we should have answer.i am wondering if there is anyone on here who started in the spring, what month they found out? i am going to be on edge until then, because as of december 31st i will not have a job so i would like to have some sort of plan.

if i'm not mistaken, you guys will find out sometime in november. i applied in may and we knew at the end of june. they have to give you ample time to get all of your physical, immunizations, and get your cpr completed. hope this helps!

When I went to the application meeting last May, we met in the cafeteria and we had to wait until our name was called to fill out the application. They called like ten of us to a table at a time and we submitted all our all documents to Ms. Norris. Make sure that you have everything needed because there was a few people who got turned away because they didn't have the proper documents. If you have any questions, call the nursing office. The earlier you get there, the earlier you get called because they go by the names in order on the sign in sheet. I was there about two hours for the whole process. It wasn't bad at all. Are you serious!?!?! Applications for Winter 2008? I am taken back...back to the middle of November 2006 when I got my letter. Wow! Time is flying.....(as I am sitting here trying to write a daggone OB care plan:banghead:

Can I tell you about my amazing day? I witnessed an emergency c-section at my OB rotations today. I am in awe...I can not find the words at the moment to articulate my feelings. The surgical 1st assistant, the nurses, the nicu people, the doctors, wow! They delivered a baby at 30 weeks gestation. I was there as they rushed the mom down to the OR, I saw when they made the 1st incision, I saw the baby's tiny feet hanging half way out (breeched), I watched as they examined her uterus, I saw the placenta, assisted the new mommy back to recovery, it all worked like a well coordinated dance.

OH, AND I finally did my first assessment on a woman 2-days postpartum....And I just realized that I hijacked this post......I will shut up now. Sorry.

WOW, that had to be an amazing experience!! I would have been so excited to witness such an event! I can't wait to get to OB clinicals because I think that's where I want to work. I'm so excited for you! I swear that I just felt a rush of pure adrenaline! And on top of that you did a REAL assessment? OMG, I can't wait to get to that point. I'll be nervous as heck, but it will be soooo worth it. You go girl!

Just like everyone said I would show up there early. I arrived there a half an hour before the time the meeting was going to start, and there were about 30 to 40 people ahead of me. I felt bad because there was a girl there who was kind of arrogant about getting accepted into the nursing program and she ended up having the wrong class. So make sure you have the correct classes. Also, make sure you have everything you need so you do not get sent away. Other then waiting to get called up there, the whole process takes 15-20 minutes. I was quite surprised to here that there were people there applying with a GPA's in between 2.5-3.0. I am nervous applying with a 3.8. who knows! Good Luck!!

I went to the August 29th app. meeting and I arrived 30 minutes early and there were 81 people ahead of me !! I would agree with everyone else, arrive early - once I was called up, it only took 15 minutes but my wait time was 3 hours!

Make sure that you have all of your paper work, including the proof of attendance at an info meeting, there were several people who were turned away because they didn't have it.
