my ward may be closing

yup ward manager talked to all the late shift yesterday seems the trust is losing a medical ward. some wards are moving as they are building a new building to replace the last nigthengale wards. so we may close to protect acute beds but it all on the grapevine as yet

Ayla this is really unsettling news, I'm sorry honey. Please keep us posted.

My trust did this a while ago, all the nurses were redeployed and still have jobs, but it's the uncertainty that is a worry

To be honest i wouldnt mind moving i feel i need more acute skills, it just apparnelty it can happen in 2 weeks once a decison is made. I like most of a colldague know the flow and ebb of a shift etc but feel frustatred about medical coverage and working witha consultant who has no idea of mdt. Funny a bank support worker knew before us.

Sorry to hear this Ayla, I always find that it is the people strongly affected are the last to know and it appears to be the case here
