Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

I heard from one of my old classmates who got in last spring that there were those who got in without taking even AP I or II. Also those without microbiology and that most alternates got in. Keep in mind that, year after year, the requirements for Spring is significantly lower than Fall. That said, if you still feel uncomfortable with your points then you can retake the TEAS again before the deadline and it should count toward the Spring semester.

Oh no Jpeters247! I am so sorry to hear that! This whole process has become very stressful! I definitely think it's a great idea for you to take a mental break, study, and try again! You're only 3 points away from getting 6 points!! So close!! We have until the end of July, so take advantage of that time! I watched a lot of YouTube tutorial videos to help me prepare. And of course take as many practice tests as you can. Praying for your endurance and peace of mind!

For those who have gone through the application process in the past, does Ms. BW contact you if she needs any more information or sees that something has aged out or you need to update something (such as an information session)? Just wanted to know if we will hear anything from her before we get an admissions decision letter.

Thanks you guys for the kind encouraging words. I believe it's gonna all work out. Just wish I could put this TEAS behind me but "it is what it is". Just going to do what needs to be done so I can get into school. These week has been so relaxing, goodness didn't realize how much these classes, cna exam, teas all consumed my life.

Anyway.... I'm going to get on the move with the CNA at Rex as well, I will also go to employee healt for the TB. Where do you all get yours done at?

Jpeters247, I typically get my TB tests at my primary care. I have several friends that go and get there's at a local urgent care. They're not very expensive. Typically somewhere around $20-30. I like to go to my primary care so that I can keep all my records in one place. Coming from someone who works at a doctor's office, it can be a pain to try to get records transferred between healthcare facilities. The only downfall about going to my PCP as opposed to urgent care, is I have to call ahead of time and let them know I need it because my doctor has to order it, I can't just walk in like urgent care. I wanted to go ahead and get my physical done as well, but I was advised not to get one this early. That will probably be what I do if I find out I got in.

I need to get my Bls for healthcare provider before June 13. I looked last night and most places were full. Where did everyone go to get certified?

I just signed up for June 5. Hoping all goes well. How was clinical? I'm trying to picture how it will be and what I will be doing. Congrats on your awesome points!!!

Clinical for me was good! You are honestly doing a lot of the skills that you practiced in class because you have to check off on so many to complete the course. You also will be doing a lot of the day to day tasks that the other CNA's might be doing like helping with feeding, changing bed linen etc. The patients make everything worth it and you're busy the entire time so the night goes by fast!

Have any current Wake Tech students ever had to submit an appeal to financial aid because you were told you had exceeded or were close to exceeding the maximum timeframe allowed for your degree? Curious as to how long it takes to hear back from the committee and how lenient they are with the approvals...

Is this your current situation you're speaking of 2BRN919. If so, we're in the same boat. However, I started to receive those "exceeded financial aide" things a while ago. Thankfully I've still been able to get loans throughout the school year. I believe it's because I've already received countless amounts of aide during my first associates degree and part of my secondary school back in NY. So far I haven't been denied and I hope they don't start now because this is when I, or we both will need it most.
