Wake Tech Fall 2017 start

Hi all! Just wondering who will be applying to the Wake Tech RN program in January, for the Fall 2017 start? I'm finishing up BIO168, BIO175, PSY241 and SOC210 this semester. If I can maintain all As, and get 12 points on my ATI TEAS, I'll have 161 points. Based on the last two classes' initial acceptance ranges, I feel like I'll be an alternate. :dead:

Hey all. I haven't checked this thread in a while due to crazy work schedule and studying for finals. Congrats to all those going to orientation! And for those not accepted this time, it sounds like you'll have a good chance next time!

I now have access to the Gateway information on blackboard. It looks like we need to start looking at the medical abbreviations and dosage calculation info. I'm sure they'll go over it at orientation, but I'm going to start flash cards for the abbreviations. Some I know, but a lot are new.

Are the abbreviations and such that we should be looking at posted already?

Congratulations to all who were accepted. I didn't get accepted at Wake, but I applied to another program and was accepted. I'm happy and sad at the same time. I really wanted to go to Wake, so I'm sad I wasn't accepted. But, I'm happy I will be starting nursing school in August.

When you log into blackboard, go into the Gateway to Sucess-Nursing Curriculum course. In the NUR 111 course info heading, there's a folder for NUR 111 course material. In that folder there's a file with medical abbreviations. I'm sure we don't need to study before the orientation, but I want to at least get started.

Everyone ready for orientation tomorrow? I'm certainly ready to see where I am on the alternates list! The background check is all we needed to have done beforehand, correct? What else should we/are we supposed to bring with us tomorrow?? Can't wait to meet you all!

Yes, I think the background check and the consent form were the only things we had to do before tomorrow. I'm probably going to bring a copy of my receipt for it, along with my acceptance letter, and a notebook to take notes. I'm sure they'll have a ton of information for us tomorrow. I can't imagine what all we'll talk about from 9am-4pm!

It's going by pretty quickly so far, I can't see them keeping us for too much longer. Probably be out by 3 (at least I hope so).

I started as alternate #23 and I was instantly disappointed of course. Being only 4 puts behind the initial acceptance, I was expecting thinking to be so much higher on the list! But I guess since they've already accepted the first 18, making me now #5 I guess I'm a little bit more optimistic now haha. Anyone here part of the group of 18 who got accepted this morning? If so, congrats!!!

Well I miscalculated my points and I was alternates #22 so I'm right there with you

Congratulations, to the initially-accepted students and especially the alternates that were pleasantly surprised when they got accepted today. For those still on the alternate list, try not to worry too much. They will be calling names left and right. See you all during the semester. Schedule B here

I miscalculated my points as well. Apparently I had 167 instead of 161. It sounds like they're thinking several more alternates will get spots. Best of luck to everyone! I'm on schedule A for the fall. Hope to see you all around!

Got my acceptance this morning!
