Anyone out there also playing the waiting game???
I'm wondering if the notification process of acceptance/denial is any different with the lottery system in place. Any info would be greatly appreciated, especially from anyone that went through the application process this past Winter (the first quarter of the lottery system).

I went through the winter lottery at tcc. They say you'll find out the first 2 weeks of Feb if you get in or not. From my experience (Both GPA based and lottery), TCC notifies the first group of accepted folks within the first week. The folks that do not get chosen find out the second week. So, I'm assuming you will hear sometime between Feb 1-5th if you are accepted. But I'm not so sure what happens to the spot if someone gets chosen but decides not to accept their spot...

I also applied to TCC and hope we don't have to wait until the middle of Feb to find out! I'm curious if others applied to the part-time & full-time options? I'm hoping it will at least increase my chances of getting in. I think there were only 93 applicants this last go-around..which seems really low!
A friend of mine won the "lottery" this first time around and was notified Nov 9.
Not much longer!
Yeah, I thought that was strange that there were only 93 applicants but NOBODY, out of the 10 or so folks that I knew that applied, got in.... Oh well, hopefully this time around we will ALL get it :)
I applied for both full-time and part-time, but they made me choose my "first choice" (which I said was full-time). I'm still not quite sure how that works, but I think if I don't get into the full-time lottery, they put me into the part-time lottery (make any sense?). I'm just keeping my fingers crossed - and I'll do so for you as well.
Good luck, and keep me posted on any news...

They post the lottery draw on there web site so you can see what numbers were chosen. Also if you don't in the first run they keep the numbers just in case anyone backs out. And with the part time full time thing. If you don't get into full time you can go into the draw for part time. If you get into part time, then later in the program if anyone drops the program you can take their full time slot. Its a little confusing but simple. Its nice because you get answers a lot faster. I have an application in at PLU and I won't hear until JUNE!!! Good luck to everyone!

I also applied to TCC waiting to hear back now:uhoh21:, so did you see that on the website about the letters coming out during the first two weeks of february?
My understanding is that we should receive an email, one way or the other, within the first two weeks of February. I have read (although do not have confirmation of this - but it makes sense) that those people accepted to the program are notified within the first week. This gives the TCC Nursing Department a few days to advance people to spots where others have declined the opportunity. Then, those not accepted are notified within the second week.
Again, I have no confirmation that this is how it's done, but I have read of this scenario a few times from postings on this website.
I just really hope I hear something this week. I applied last Spring (for part-time), and received my denial email on February 10th.
Good luck!!!
I also hope anyone accepted will let the rest of us know the good news, as soon as possible. :)

yess please if anyone gets their letter could you please let us know, I have been looking at the older posts on here and people were discussing GPA's and most of them are up there with 4.0 and 3.9's...Im guessing they base admissions on GPA i dont know
Actually, they don't base admissions on GPA anymore, as long as you meet the minimum criteria (all pre-requisites completed with 3.0 or higher). They are now admitting via a lottery system. They changed over to a lottery for winter quarter entry (2010). If you go to the TCC Nursing website, they have a cool video that explains it all, and shows how the lottery worked for winter quarter admissions.
I am checking my email 100 times an hour & will be sure to post as soon as I hear anything.
bina11- as long as you have a 3.0 in prerequisites & win the lottery.. you're in.
