Vitiligo and Control III

Wondering if there are any nurses out there who have heard of disinfectants being the possible cause of vitiligo.I work in home care and use control III alot

use gloves sometimes not all the time when preparing solution another website named gloves as the possible culprit.I found an excellent website and am now working to heal my condition naturally seeing that it's only a few small spots on my hands. Is there anyone who has it or knows someone,if so which treatments have been successful?Any info would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks in advance:) !!!

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease that effects the number of melanin cells. I have vitiligo which was essentially a biproduct of my hypothyroid disease. I've been on a synthetic hormone for most of my life, and that is one of the believed causes.

Although there are some supposed treatment dealing with UV, remember that once you lose the melanin within your skin, you are not going to be able to do anything about the skin that has already turned white.

It is not painful physically, but there can be some psychological stressor related to it, especially if your skin tone is darker.

If you really have vitiligo, it won't be on just your hands. Depending on your severity, it will be all over, usually in a bilateral pattern. It does not come from disinfectant.

I have heard of repigmentation on several occasions some total some partial

I have read up on it extensively(they say hands and feet usually don't reassume their color with even with treatment) several websites mentioned

chemical causes or environmental causes and named disinfectants and rubber gloves. It is an autoimmune disorder but I don't have a condition which "brought it on" no anemia,no lupus,no diabetes. It is forming in a bilateral pattern however.

For now I'm focused on my deficiencies and giving my body what I know it needs before it spreads. Good luck!!! Thanks 4 your reply!!!

My mother had vitiligo but she died 30 years ago i don't know if there are any new advances...at that time you had no cause and no tx except to remove the melanin from the uneffected parts of the body...

michael jackson is a case in point...the umbrella is not an affection..it is absolutely necessarey to protect your skin from the sun because if you do not have melanin you will burn you can never tan

in my mothers case the disorder progressed until she had very small amount of unaffected skin left

if you have updated info please post
