NLE is national license examination not for US graduate nurses. if you are a forigner in your own country you have to have that to practise nursing & if you come to usa and want to apply for NCLEX you must have your NLE number .

hi! what is the reason why Vermont BRN returned back your application? Have you included a cover letter explaining to them you didn't take the exam or haven't received the result yet? Did they make any comments on your returned to sender documents?
btw, if you don't mind, did you make it on NLE?

Hi, If you took the NLE, you must first wait for the results from PRC before filing it to Vermont, coz it states in the Form that if you have any existing license you must state it together with your application.
that's correct. The problem is, we don't have the license card with us. But we already registered with the PRC. I don't know if Vermont BRN will accept a letter explaining such, attached with the original certificate of passing and certificate of board rating which PRC temporarily provides us. That certification actually allows us to pratice nursing even without the license card per se. But anyhow, I'm sending my application to Vermont. I hope they would still accept it. :-( Our license card is yet for release till December or probably January next year. huhu

VT just came out with new instructions (dated June, 2008) saying they may now choose to require the CES be done if after they make their initial internal review but can't decide for sure if it is comparable to the US.
**Pls refer to this sticky for the latest in VT:
