Hi all meka26 here with a few questions about veeb,
Fist off I've been searching for so long to see if a new thread has been started for the 2017-2018 class, since the testing dates has been opened for some time already, but couldn't find any . So here's the question how much time do you get for the examine, has anybody taken the math lesson being offered, what are the topics being covered on the examine and lastly has anyone been accepted already? if so congrats.
P.s a bundle of nerves

Hi, I took the exam , I am still waiting for my results. It's basically 9th grade math; decimals, adding and subtracting fractions and distribution and absolute numbers. You only get 24 minutes for 40 math questions. So you have to ge quick. They give a little pocket size calculator so you should know some short cuts to save you time

Hey meka26! I took the exam in the beginning of February. The reading portion of the exam was 50 questions and we had 50 minutes to complete it. For the math, it was 40 questions and we had 24 minutes to complete it. I personally didn't take the math lesson and truthfully, I don't think its necessary to do so. You are given a small basic calculator to use for the math and that helps you with the majority of the exam. The reading was just vocabulary and basic comprehension questions after reading a passage. The length of the passage increased the further you got into the exam. As for the math, it had questions on decimals, fractions, percent, positive and negative numbers and there was one algebra question. The math is doable just watch your time. No acceptance just an envelope with my scores and what the next steps are for the application process. Don't be nervous! You've got this :-)

Hi, I plan to take the entrance test on March 12th, but I didn't start refreshing math until this week. Do you think I need more time than a week to prep for Veebs entrance exam math portion. Is anyone else planning to take the test in march?
Good morning, I guess the amount of studying you need is based on your understanding of the materials they expect you to know for the examination. With that being said if you think you have it covered then wether you study for a week or a day it shouldnt matter :). Good luck in the 12th.

Hi there everyone!
I took the exam in February and passed! I've also registered and paid! Although the math is basic algebra. Fractions, decimals, finding the value of x, y, etc.. I recommend for those who are not strong in math or for those who haven't done a math review in a few years to take the review class or simply YouTube "high school algebra review" or "basic algebra review". The reading part is exactly as everyone said.

Hey Guys,
I took the Math Prep Corse and the exam in March 2017. The prep corse was great it helped to refresh my memory on fractions, ratios and proportions.
The prep corse goes over adding and subtracting of decimals, converting percents, fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing), and roman numerals. Things you also need to know (because it was not gone over in the math prep corse) absolute value, square routes, intergers, exponents, and PEMDAS (parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction).
The Math portion of the test was 24 minutes for 40 questions. The time given is a little intimidating, but the questions are straight forward. There aren't any word problems or anything like that. For example: 256.8 + 6352.9= that is what the questions will look like. The reading portion of the test was good not too boring, and the questions were also straight forward. You are given 50 minutes for 50 questions. There were a few questions that involved maps and following directions. There was also a few short stories, poems, and plays that you had to read and answer questions for.
I felt the prep corse was helpful and I am happy I took it, and yes I did pass the exam. The scores took about 2 weeks (longest 2 weeks of my life), it came in just an envelope with my scores, a application and all the steps you need to take to secure your seat in the 2017-2018 PN Program at VEEB. On the reading I received a 12.9 and on the math I received 11.5.
P.S. what I used to study the math was youtube, search Khan Academy then the subject. For the reading, I searched google for GED Reading Compression test prep.
I hope that this is helpful to you!! good luck everyone.

Hey ladies good luck for the fall semester, we are currently entering the 3rd semester and boy let me tell you 2nd semester was no joke. But I'm counting down to August I can't wait to graduate and pursue by BSN after. Time management is very important in this program!
Has anyone had an appointment with Financial Aid yet? I am scheduled for one but for some reason I am nervous and unsure of what to expect. Any pointers?
