  1. Hi everyone! I am currently an LPN in LTC and I just became an RN. I have an opportunity to work as an RN in Pediatric LTC (vent/trach) which I am currently accepting, but I know I don't want to work in that setting forever. I was wondering if anyone has experienced the transition from LTC to hospital, which you prefer, and for what reason? Was one more manageable than the other? Which was more stressful? Just trying to prepare myself and would like other perspectives from people who have already done it.
  2. I was recently hired to an agency, and this will be my first pediatric home care case. Majority of my background has been residential or outpatient settings (all pediatrics). I am very excited to be able to use more of my nursing skills, but a little nervous because I don't know what to expect. Any suggestions on skill set, home care etiquette, etc. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated :)
  3. Thanks so much for the detailed response! I'm sure I will have more questions as the year goes on. Good luck to you in your remaining semester of program. I can't to be where you are lol!
  4. I was just wondering if anyone has been through SCCC LPN to RN bridge program? What was your experience like? Were you able to work, if so how many hours? What were the clinicals like? I was recently accepted into this program, so I am just curious as to what to expect in the upcoming months ?
  5. Does anyone know how many points you received on the rubric for already being an LPN?
  6. Are we allowed to wear regular white sneakers, or does it have to be the specific white nursing shoes from the Meridy website? I need help from the veterans that have already been through the program lol :-)
  7. Has anyone had an appointment with Financial Aid yet? I am scheduled for one but for some reason I am nervous and unsure of what to expect. Any pointers?
  8. Hi everyone, I had a question regarding acceptance into the program. I was wondering if you ever receive a formal acceptance letter? After I passed the entrance exam, I went in to submit my money order, application and paperwork. I was given information on how to apply for financial aid and a link for ordering uniforms. Does this mean I'm officially accepted?
  9. Hey meka26! I took the exam in the beginning of February. The reading portion of the exam was 50 questions and we had 50 minutes to complete it. For the math, it was 40 questions and we had 24 minutes to complete it. I personally didn't take the math lesson and truthfully, I don't think its necessary to do so. You are given a small basic calculator to use for the math and that helps you with the majority of the exam. The reading was just vocabulary and basic comprehension questions after reading a passage. The length of the passage increased the further you got into the exam. As for the math, it had questions on decimals, fractions, percent, positive and negative numbers and there was one algebra question. The math is doable just watch your time. No acceptance just an envelope with my scores and what the next steps are for the application process. Don't be nervous! You've got this :-)
  10. Is the entrance exam the TEAS exam?
  11. Wow congrats to everyone so far. I still haven't received anything about the exam dates. Got excited yesterday to open a document from Molloy, only for it to be a duplicate letter that I received from last month. I hope I receive something soon! Good luck to you guys.
  12. Oh man how exciting, I hope I receive something soon ! From what I've read on other Molloy blogs, most people who are asked to take the exam are accepted. I think I only saw one or two who took the exam and weren't accepted. Does it seem to be difficult content?
  13. You did? Was it a letter telling you the date to come in to take the exam?
  14. Hi, good luck to you too. I don't know if there is a true GPS requirement. Maybe fact that you already have all prereqs completed will work in your favor. Glad to hear they gave you the same answer, at least I know they were being truthful lol.
  15. You can call if you'd like, but I'm not going to. I've called them so many times regarding my application I think they're probably just about sick of hearing from me lol.
