Looking for current students or graduates of Vanderbilt's FNP/CNM program for information about how they like the program.

Any help would be appreciated!

Wish I could say that I was, but alas..not.

I do know that one of your local birth center midwives graduated from that program recently. Sounds like she was very pleased with having both certifications.

Are you in Baltimore?

Thanks for responding. Yes, I'm in Baltimore. I'll be graduating from my BSN program in Dec. and already trying to figure out what I'll be doing for grad school. If she wouldn't mind, I would like to correspond with her about her experience with .

I just graduated from the program in August. Took my CNM boards in January and am taking my FNP boards in 10 days! I would love to talk to you about the program! Unfortunately, I am studying right now and just joined the forum tonight! I am thrilled that I did the dual program...

We will talk as soon as my boards are over! I am also moving in the process and a bit overwhelmed right now~

Thanks for replying! Just come back when you're not so busy... you have soooo much on your plate right now! Congrats & good luck on the FNP boards!

I am interested in Vanderbilt dual FNP/ACNP program. Do we any Vanderbilt gradutes on allnurses ? Someone help us out by discussing your experience please.

How was modified learning block for you ? Was the dual program manageable for distance learners ?

How was clinical ?

Hi everyone! Although I have not gone through the program, 3 of my babies were caught by Vanderbilt midwives. I have also spoke to program director for the CNM/FNP program during a birth; I'm a doula and do a lot of births at with their midwives on staff there. I have heard nothing but raving reviews! During down time at births I have asked the midwives if they enjoyed the program and everyone has the same response "It's wonderful! And HARD!" Exactly what a well-trained midwife should say about their education!

I, too, am very interested in this program. I would like to be a CNM, but to have the option to switch to NP would be great. I hope one of the program graduates finds this thread. It would be great to hear how the program is.
