I'm heading out of the frozen tundra to somewhere tropical! Enough bragging I do have a question.
How do you cover vacations? I try to reduce the number of patients I admit a day or two before my last day and just take all the ED assessments and medical floor consults instead. The patients that remain on my service are divided up between the physicians I work with. When I worked outpatient they didn't schedule anyone for me during the time I was away and another provider would take emergency calls or do prn refills for me.
How do you cover for your time off?

I'm basically all outpt at this time (could change soon) and I have another NP/PA take my calls when I'm gone. I try to make sure that I do all my refills prior to leaving but one can't anticipate everything.
