VA Work Shifts

I applied for an "intermittent" position at the local VA hospital. Is intermittent the same thing as PRN?

From what I understand, yes it is.

I figured. Do you know if they look at apps as they come in or wait until the closing date?

Depends on the posting. If its a short window they wait until the closing, a long window I do not believe they wait. No matter what it is not a fast process.

No surprise there. I have talked to a few people who did get in relatively quickly so maybe (hopefully) this will be one of those times.

Nothing on the VA is quick, everything is hurry up wait!

Been there before!

I'm not sure about "intermittent" being a PRN position. My VA doesn't have any on-call/PRN nurses like other hospitals do. When I was a CNA, I had an intermittent position. I had a set FTE, but no benefits.

Ah I see. That is disappointing. On the job description it says nothing about being full time, just says the schedule is evenings from 330-12.
