Va Pay Schedule

Does anyone know where a new grad A.D.N falls into the the VA pay schedule?

Usually a Nurse I, step I unless you have experience.

I just went to a VA job fair in st louis...They offer a very very very poor pay of 14 per hour with a top pay of 26 no chance of ever making more than that. that is a pitiful amount most new grad with zero experience makes at least 20 in st louis

It really depends on the State. In Ohio, I think it's around $21.

In Ohio VA pays $44,925 for a starting nurse (Nurse 1 step 1) BSN pays aliitle higher, that is about $21.30 per hour and $31.92 for overtime pay. Two years of probation, 26 days of paid annual leave, 30 days of paid sick leave per year can accumulate up to 250hrs, Trift Savings Plan, VA pays portion after 6 months. Can transfer to other VA facility within the United States and abroad without applying for another license, One paid conferrence anywhere a year. Will pay for your specialty certification ex. CCRN, CRRN, etc.

Think about it.

The process of applying is kind of slow because of background check and orientation schedule. Some facility only does orientation of new hire every other month. I'm going of tangent here and I should stop.

"Still serving to those who Served"

how do you go about applying for VA positions is there a website?? Thanks
