I have been in the healthcare field for almost 20 years, and licensed as a nurse for almost 19 years. I have had my RN for just over 16 years (with 14 years working in critical care and almost 2 years in upper management), and had my LPN for about 2 1/2 years. I currently have my ADN, and I am almost finished with my BSN (4 classes with a projected completion in 7 months). I have the pay table for my region, but have not found out where I would determine my pay classification.

Where they place you can vary depending on your experience, duties applied for, and your curb education level. But definition, an ADN is a Nurse 1, BSN nurse 2, and msn can range from nurse 2 to 3. Some VAs are by the book on this(mine included). Others may factor in specific jobs you've done. There is a point in the hiring process where you detail ttge work experience. Use this to emphasize points where you were in charge, managed, and supervised others. Theia could bump you up on the nurse rank or improve the step you fall under when you start. Most sites habe multiple tiered of pay scales in different sections. So the federal documents are only a guide to see the range for a specific site.
