Va in Illinois

Just curious..does anyone work @ the VA hospital in Hines, IL or Chicago? I am considering a move and would be interested in finding out some more information on these two hospitals. :)

From my understanding..the benefits are the same at VA's nationwide? I work @ the Phx VA currently so just curious. Also they start BSN's that have completed a VA externship @ Nurse I - - Step 5 or 6? It's $59K starting ($28.44/hr)...Is the pay comparable in Illinois?

I am not sure about the RNs. Right now I am only a nursing assisant but in nursing school. I know Danville is about the only va that still has GS-4 nursing assistants. They are trying to change it to make us all 5's. Everyone else in our visn is already 5's.

i did not work there but did my mental health clinicals at hines....obviously did not see much of the medical portion of the facility but was extremely impressed with the wide variety of mental health programs they had.
