UW Oshkosh Accelerated Program Fall 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone,

I am currently working towards the pre-req requirements for the UW Oshkosh accelerated program (I was 'too' chemistry in my 1st degree) and was just looking to see if anyone else is applying to the fall or even the spring of 2015. I'm very interested to hear from past applicants and people currently applying!

Thanks!

Hello! Glad I found this post! I am really interested in applying to the summer or fall cohort. I am taking pre-reqs now; 3 left for the fall but they wont be done by September 15th so I think that means I am stuck applying for October 2015. I dont have any CNA experience but it would give me time to get some! What about you? Other than CNA experience, anything your worried about?

I'm going to apply either for Fall 15 or Spring 16

I am applying for October 2015

Hello! Glad I found this post! I am really interested in applying to the summer or fall cohort. I am taking pre-reqs now; 3 left for the fall but they wont be done by September 15th so I think that means I am stuck applying for October 2015. I am only concerned about CNA experience. While the start of the program is far away they accept people at the end of May, and from eBay I have read from previous applicants it really is a major thing they are looking for. I'm hoping that my other direct patient care experience will help though. I'm a certified optician and worked as one for 3 years.

It's just nuts that about 150 ppl apply for only 30 spots.

So how is everyone doing? The application deadline is fast approaching. I got a CNA job offer, just waiting for my references to clear and to be able to officially put it on my resume. From the website it sounds like they go through the applicants with CNA experience and then don't look at the applicants without experience unless they still have room left over! I really want to be in that first pile they look at!

Hey everyone! I also finished and mailed in my app on Friday! This is my first time applying and I am really nervous. My science GPA isn't very strong but I did really well on the TEAS V test and have been working as a CNA for over a month now. My fingers are crossed but the other posts I've read on here are pretty discouraging.. at least when it comes to getting in on your first try.

I mailed mine last Tuesday. My science GPA is fine and my TEAS was ok (80% over all, seriously thinking about retaking it). But I JUST got a CNA job in a hospital so I have barely any experience. And it seems like they want you to have a lot. I fully expect to not get in and if so I plan on applying for next January. But, maybe I'll get lucky :)

Best of luck!

Congratulations on the new job! That's awesome! :) I have high hopes but am also trying to be realistic about it all. I realize it's super competitive so we'll see what happens. Good luck though! Keep me posted.

If anyone is curious they have definitely started the review process. They called me because the class I had previously confirmed with their admission department ended up not being good enough after all (the English composition class). At least they call if they have questions! Retaking the TEAS next Thursday to see if I can get my English score up and test out of the requirement, only missed it by a little bit the first time so it is possible with some focused review. Wish me luck, and good luck to you all. I hope no one else has any complications. If I don't get the 85% I have to squeeze in an 8 week course which I don't want to do now that I am taking other classes and working 65 hours a week.

Long story short I didn't need to retake the TEAS as my English was good enough after all... Oh well. I did MUCH better the 2nd time. Very happy I re-took it.

I got the e-mail the other day saying my application was complete and moving to the next step. Good luck to all and hopefully we all do great in our interviews!

As the interview process continues I wish everyone the best of luck!

I am hoping they make their decisions early... They told me they will let us know as soon as they are done, and that they do not wait until the deadline to send the offers out. So fingers crossed!
