UTMB Spring 2023

Hey guys,

I hope I made this in the right spot and y'all are able to find it! But I noticed there wasn't a cohort for this application cycle so I figured I would take it upon myself and create one! Best of luck to all of y'all! This is my dream school!

Overall stats are 89 TEAS & 3.7 GPA

So there’s a couple of things that might help you next time around. Make sure that ALL of your science pre-reqs are completed bc they want to see them done not in progress. Also if you can I’d retake the TEAS to get a higher score for the next cycle bc that’s easier to do than trying to raise your GPA. I also would make sure that your personal statement is very very strong and you make the best 1st impression possible.

The Summer app cycle is slightly less competitive than the fall and Spring so that might help too.

Best of luck and don’t give up!!

Accepted to UTMB. Second wave may be in this or next week.

YES! PLEASE! Can you tell me if we really have to buy all new books each semester bc of access codes? And roughly how this total cost was?
Also, any study tips? I’m one of those that got this far without really having to study and I know that’s not going to work for this. I’m scared bc I don’t know how to study and I need to. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We really do have to buy the books for first sem bc of the access codes, there’s also assignments through the book as well that are for a grade. After first sem, there aren’t as many access codes.  ? Also, I was someone like you as well! I never really studied as much but this program is so demanding and rigorous, you’ll learn how to study girl! UTMB is very good at making sure you know everything you need to know (and then some) within a short amount of time so you will definitely be more challenged than someone who has already learned their study techniques. (Ex: I never had to study and struggled when hit with the new material compared to my friend who has had to study hard her whole life - so she was prepared for the course load) the material you will see in nursing is so different than regular university but once you get the hang of it, you’ll see you know way more than you think!
