UTMB Spring 2018

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

Is it true we can retake portions of the TEAS instead of the entire test again?

Not that I'm aware of. I think you have to retake the entire test.

The only programs that allow partial retakes are usually adn programs, no bsn programs allow that

Any updates on the third round of Interviews?

I had my Interview on the Aug 2nd. This wait is sooo hard.

Add about 12 days that's how long it took for me to get an acceptance after my interview

Thank you for the motivation! Do you know how many times we are allow to take the Teas for utmb?

Jules earlier had answered that question and said you could only take the test twice under the utmb code

This is mostly for the students who are starting in the fall, but do we wait till the orientation before we are able to do our fingerprints and background checks with the state bon...and as for everyone who has gone acceptance, have you submitted anything yet, I recently submitted all my shots and will be retaking my cpr/aed certification

Thank you! I've heard before that you can retake sections, but I don't see how that's fair? Lol

The wait is hard! Hang in there! It seems to be taking about 2 weeks to hear back, but I the time frame could vary between rounds.

I haven't submitted anything yet. I still have my 3rd Hep B shot to go though. Did you have your physician complete the UTMB form for shots and submit it along with your titers?

I also must retake CPR certification. I will be looking for a CPR class in the Pearland area if anyone is interested in taking it together!

As far as the background check, my acceptance email stated we couldn't initiate it until November 1st. I'm not sure about the fingerprints. That's a great question for admissions if we can't locate that information on the web.

For BLS check out Life Savers 101 located across the street from Strickland Chevrolet. For your convenience you can call or text 281-635-0248 or email [email protected].

I called immunizations and they said the pdf form that is available can be filled out by the student and you dont need a signature on the bottom by a lvn,rn, etc. Also if you dont have the dates for specific shots--there is no need to put those down but can be filled with a N/A as long as your titers come back saying you have the immunity for the 3 titers they request, Hep B, Varicella, MMR and also dont forget to get your PPD shot done since you need it before enrollment as well. I just took picture of the paperwork and cropped out for neatness and submitted it all thru email to immunizations. If your starting the program and are under the age of 22 you need that menigitis shot done before hand. i also meant to say BLS/AED certification not CPR since they dont accept that. Last bit of advice for some, your certification has to meet the standards of UTMB which i think has to come from the american red cross course if i'm not mistaken. Again thanks Denjam i would be better informed if i had my acceptance letter sent to me, in the same position as Charlea was and got admitted thru mystar.
