UTMB Spring 2018

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

I will be applying soon, meanwhile, good luck to everyone!

Hi all! I have applied for Fall 2017 and received an invitation to interview but I have applied for Spring 2018 just in case. The process is long and can be an emotional roller coaster but it will be worth it in the end.

Congrats!!! Good Luck on the interview!

Do you mind sharing what your stats were?

Thank you! My stats are:

TEAS overall 80

Reading: 83.0

Math: 84.4

Science: 78.7

English and Language: 75.0

Science GPA: 3.35

Prereq GPA: 3.56

Cummulative GPA: 3.51

No C's on my transcripts

No previous health care experience

2 Masters degrees in Education, Bachelor of Science in Psychology

10 years teaching middle school

Based on what was said in my interview I had a very strong personal statement that explained some gaps in my education and why my undergraduate GPA is not as high as I would like. I'm happy to answer questions to help along the way.

Awesome! Good luck to you! We're all in this together lol :)

I am also applying to UTMB for Spring 2018! Except I won't be applying until my final grades are posted for this semester.

I'm still debating whether I will apply again. I was denied for both Spring & Fall 2017, and am still waiting on a couple schools to send notifications for the Fall.

No interview...just denied. My TEAS is an 84, science GPA 3.75 & pre-requisite GPA around 3.4. My overall GPA is my biggest obstacle. I have over 160 credit hours, and some of my grades from 20 years ago are pulling my GPA down.

Brandon, Sometimes a really strong personal statement can help. There are services that will help you with writing your personal statement. I was told writing it like a narrative would help make it stick out. Have you considered hiring someone to help write your personal statement?

Had no idea that was available, but I guess it would be similar to professional resume writers. I will say I totally changed my statement for the second time thinking I needed to do something different. Any suggestions where to look for such services?
