misspink86,

at the utmb open house, they said there would be 60 accepted, but if you factor in the 10 people who will probably decline acceptance that's more like 70 because they will go to the wait list to cover those spots. enrollment services expects about 300 applicants and i think you said they are only sending out 100 interview invitations? i like those odds!

they did get the interview invitations thru email, a lot of folks said it went to their spam folder.

and omg are you serious, acceptance letters came out a week after the interviews?!

ms sealy,

did they say whether or not its first come first serve on interview process.

yes jazzynurse2be, I was reading back thru the UTMB Fall thread 09 and they had the interview around or on the 15th of may and by the 23rd some of them were getting acceptacne emails! its on page 4, thats when they start posting about it :) I like the odds too!

thanks ms sealy, I am so anxious and the time is not even near.

jazzynurse2b,

they consider several factors when deciding who gets an invitation and the host emphasized the importance of the personal statement over everything else below:

utmb faqs:

what information will the school of nursing consider when reviewing files for admission?

the school considers three gpa’s for the bsn program: science, prerequisite, and overall. your gpa is an important aspect of your application. the school also considers the number of withdrawals and failures on your transcripts. we also will look at your personal accomplishments, scholastic honors, leadership roles, hardships, cultural experiences, community service, and any extra curricular activities in which you have been involved. your personal statement is another very important aspect of your application.

pv is the only school that i know of that does the first come first served thingy.
