UTMB Fall 2013

Has anyone else heard from UTMB? I was under the impression that we would all hear back, either way, at the same time...

I think it will be another month or so. From reading past threads it seems they send a few early acceptances out to those with the higher scores and honors students starting about a month after the deadline. And congrats to those lucky few! They worked hard to get there! As for the rest of us, they have hundreds of applications and statements to sort through. It has to be a tough decision for those looking through applications so lets be patient! It is so hard to though!!

I also live in Humble. If I get accepted, I am hoping to find a roommate and/or a room to rent in Galveston. I am married and have two children in college so relocating my family to Galveston is not an option. This waiting game is so hard. I try not to think about it but that's nearly impossible!

OMG! I know exactly how you feel! I have a husband and a 3 year old and live in the Woodlands. My husband has been very supportive and is open for anything that will allow me to succeed but it is definitely a challenging position to be in.

@uhmanduh09 - I wouldn't move away completely! I just want a place to stay if I need to study for an exam or have a late clinical etc. I don't want to be driving to Humble if I am super tired. My husband travels a lot for work and my kids are both at TAMU so I am used to be separated from them for short periods of time.

Well my living situation is kinda up in the air right now.. Currently I live in Humble with my boyfriend and I know there isn't any reasonable way for me to continue living here and go to school in Galveston.. My parents live in Pearland so I would probably be moving back there with them if I continue to work at St. Lukes in the Med Center (but on a Nursing Fellowship). IF I dont get into the Nursing Fellowship with St. Luke's then I'm debating on moving to Galveston and just doing some PRN or Part Time PCA work down at UTMB and just living on the island and, like you, crashing at my parents when I have clinicals in the Med Center. Its sooo up in the air though.. I just wish I could know if I got in so I could start deciding what I wanted to do.

If you don't mind me asking.. did you do your prereqs at San Jac?

Yes I finished my associates degree at San jac in December, and I'm in the same position you are I work as a nurse tech at clear lake regional and ideally I would like to get a nurse tech prn position at utmb, and I was hoping they might even help us pay for our tuition! That would be amazing! Anyways I just really want this as I'm sure everyone does, just can't wait to know forsure or not!! Glad I'm not alone lol. I thought these past few months would be killer, but it has been nothing like these last few weeks! This suspense is causing my stress level and my waistline to both increase! lol

Well, I recieved an acceptance letter but no other forms included with the letter nor was my mystar changed so I can accept admittance. Clementine, did you recieve a letter or anything in the mail yet? I tried calling them to get this fixed...
