UTMB Fall 2013

Hello! I searched the site and seen no one made a topic about the people trying to enter in Fall 2013 so here is it  I am applying to UTMB for Fall 2013. I've written my personal statement and filled in the application. Now i'm waiting on nursing CAS to receive all my transcripts and to take my TEAS test on Jan. 8. I'm so nervous. How is everyone else coming along?

This is probably a dumb question but is the progression of the semesters fall spring summer fall? or fall spring fall spring?

It's fall spring summer fall, if we are accepted we will be a nurse by the end of next year :)

agh.. that makes it such a hard choice between their schools and the others

I know thats the main reason i want to go to utmb, and also because its so close, seems like one of the best nursing schools around, and its so much cheaper than other programs

AH I JUST WANT TO BE ACCEPTED ALREADY!

Yeah I have only heard great things about all of the programs I am applying too! (TWU UTHSC & UTMB). I'm not really sure I will get into UTHSC so it will be a tough choice between TWU-houston and UTMB.

My status is now Incomplete :( I'm currently taking stats && Nursing cas added up my gpa incorrectly-- This makes me so nervous!! Gah I hope it all works out!! @ Tess - Girl You are getting IN!

do anyone know for open house do you have to be there at 9 or can you come anytime between 9 and 12 because i was trying to take my TEAS that same day at 8 to 12?

The open house is the whole time from 9-12. You don't have to stay the whole time, but it would be to your benefit to do so!

Hi all! I'm really excited to meet some of you on Saturday morning! There will be a group of students there to answer some of your burning questions with real "student" answers. Hopefully we can ease your fears a bit :)

If you didn't sign up for this Saturday, the next info session is March 9th. I highly suggest attending!!

Hey ladies!

I applied for the Fall 2013 semester and I'm SOOO beyond nervous about getting in!! According to my mystar (which I check weekly, even though I know the deadline isn't until the 15th :o) I'm in the completed status. My GPA is sub-par (I think) but my TEAS scores were really good. I've been a PCA at St. Luke's for 2 years and I was wondering if anyone knew if they take that experience into account..

I'm excited to get to know you guys!

Unfortunately, I can't go to the open house at this point because I work on both Saturdays, but please feel free to reply back! I'd love to hear about everyone's pre-nursing experiences!

One of the things I love about UTMB is that they consider the whole person during the application process. They look at experience, read personal statements, test scores and gpa to get the full picture!

Experience doesn't guarantee you a spot, but it does look good! Just the same as not having it doesn't knock you to the bottom. The classes at utmb are made up of very diverse students!!!

Rmegster, Have you guys began clinicals yet? If so where do y'all complete them at? Also, how are you liking the program so far? I would really love to hear some more details about UTMB like the schedule and intensity of the classes and such.

I know they do some of the clinicals at St. Luke's. We get about 10-15 students per semester doing weekly clinicals in my unit.
