Has anyone else applied to the accelerated BSN program at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis for the fall of 2019? I have applied and it's driving me crazy waiting to hear something back. I asked the admissions office and they told me applicants would begin to hear back about interviews sometime in February. Judging by previous posts regarding this topic applicants have had interviews in the past as early as the first week of February and even gotten acceptance letters as early as February 19th. I am wondering it will be any different this year due to the program changing from a 17 month program to a 12 month program. Also, this year you must have already obtained a bachelors degree; whereas in previous years you could have applied as long as you had completed your pre-requisites and 60 credit hours. I would also be willing to assume that because now you must have a bachelors degree to apply the number of applicants will decrease. I'm 25 and I am so excited about starting a career in nursing, I can't wait to hear something from UTHSC!

Hello! I have applied to UTHSC Memphis as well! Patiently waiting haha. Are you from Memphis/where did you earn your previous degree?
Hailey, I grew up in rural West Tennessee and earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Memphis in the spring of 2016. How about you?
I will also apply to the ABSN program at The University of Memphis and Union's campus in Germantown, but UTHSC is without question my top choice.
I am actually from Las Vegas, and I earned by B. A. in Psychology from the University of San Diego this past year. I also applied to the MSN program at Vanderbilt U. Still patiently waiting to hear from both! The wait is killing me.
Would you happen to know any time frame of how long the application review process takes? Did you have your application in by the 15th?
It's driving me nuts waiting. I assume you still live out West, Memphis would be a big move for you! I have spoken to an individual who is currently in the program at UTHSC and they spoke well of it. The current cohort has a class size of 75 and the classes are taken in 10-week mini-semesters, with clinicals beginning during the second semester. How exciting is it knowing that if we are accepted we may be in clinicals by mid-October?
Judging from the information I gathered by reading through previous posts on allnurses.com and Reddit regarding UTHSC, applicants in the past three years have typically been contacted for interviews by phone call during the first week and second week of February. The interviews were typically conducted during the second week and third week of February and then applicants began to receive acceptance/denial letters via email during the last week and a half of February and into early March. My application was complete and submitted prior to the 15th. By the way, I have seen discussions of individuals who conducted their interview via Skype since they did not live near Memphis.
It's making me stir crazy as well! I do still live on the West Coast, but I would be way too eager and probably want to come to Memphis for the interview! It is crazy to think in under a year we could be starting clinicals and on our journey to becoming nurses, gets me so excited! ? We should be finding out so soon. I submitted my application a while ago because Vanderbilt's application was actually due in October. I wish you the best of luck, and we could both be classmates soon!
Let me know when you hear something, I will do the same. Good luck!
It seems as though they are moving through the application review process quicker this year! Good luck!
I got a call this afternoon. I have an interview at 9:15 Friday morning.
Ahhh!! Finally heard back! I have an interview next week! May I ask how yours went?!
I feel like it went great! Now the wait until the 15th is torturing me. Just be yourself and you’ll do fine, it wasn’t a very stressful interview. Are you traveling to Memphis or doing the interview online?
