USF Second Sequence BSN: Spring 2018

Hi everyone,

I haven't found a thread for this yet so I thought I'd go ahead and make one!

I'm a current graduate student at USF with the hopes of getting into the Second Sequence BSN for Spring 2018. I also am also applying to UF (I made a topic for that a while back if anyone is applying there as well!!) although I have decided that USF is my top choice because I love it so much here.

Good luck to everyone applying, I look forward to speaking with all of you during this process.:)

Go Bulls! :nurse:

I still haven't received my email yet, but congrats to everyone!

same here!

Just got denied. Along with FIU and FAU. I'm feeling so discouraged. Maybe I wasn't meant to be a nurse.

Aww, don't say that. Have you tried getting your ASN?

If I don't end up getting into USF, I am applying with SPC. Its competitive, but with your grades I think you would definitely get in. The waiting sucks I know, but there are people who are in there 50's changing careers so its never too late.

No because I was sure I would get in and finish in a yr. I'm getting older and I'm ready to leave my parents nest so i didn't want to spend another 4 yrs with no financial aid..

Thing is, I also applied to P.A school and got denied to all of them 6 schools..then nursing because I like medicine and also got denied so I'm thinking maybe this is not meant for me.

Just received my email, didn't get in either but I got accepted into another program. Best of luck to everyone else!

I wonder how many actual spots vs. how many people got interviews.

What do your grades look like? PA school is probably even more competitive. Many of the programs are strictly off of grades which doesn't really determine if you would succeed as a nurse. These schools have like 15% acceptance rates so its not easy. You should look into an ASN. You can do the night program at SPC in a little under 2 years and then start work. Most hospitals will then pay for you Bachelors which you can do online. That way you can still move out.

Agreed. I did not get into USF I found out this evening but I did get into HCC's ASN program for January. I was hoping for USF since its 1 year and I already have my bachelors but I'm going to do just as you said, work and do the bachelors online. Don't give up!

So I have been looking at this forum for a bit but have never posted anything! Did anyone else have their interview already for the program? I felt like I may have answered the questions not as completely as I could have and just rambled, until I finally just moved on to the next question, definitely was much more nervous than I had wanted to be during! Just wanted to know what everyone else thought?
