USCIS:Request for additional information

I have just checked my I-140 case status, and USCIS is requesting for additional information. I called them as indicated on the notice to find out what kind of information they needed, but they could not tell me anything, all they said was to wait until I have received the letter in the post.:o :uhoh3:

Has anyone else had a request for additional evidence or information from USCIS, what did they ask for and most important how long did it take to get approval after submitting the additional information?

you must have the actual translated birth certificate. you need it when filing a petition.

:balloons: no problem.

also, forgot to add... if the certificate is translated, it must be certified by a notary.

good luck.:)

Im in the same predicament. My I 140 was filed last July and VSC requires additional information. My recruiter said that Vermont sc only requested for an RFE. Is that enough? How long do I have to wait for an approval? What is the next step? help needed...

Once they submit the documents being asked by Vermont, you can expect your approval with in a month or two. Good Luck!

Thanks rep for the reply! Congratulations! i saw in the other thread that you got your visa... I cant wait to get mine. Honestly how long do you think to process everything before I get my visa? Im currently based in singapore and I want to spend 6 months in Manila before going to the US. Vermont is too slow

INS request for additional was for us to sign eta form 9089. Does this mean our I140 will start over since mine has not been approved yet. RD was May 2005?

Im worried about my status at BCIS. I don't know if BCIS has already received my rfe, but my employer told me they already submitted the rfe. it's already almost a month since my inquiry about the rfe submission from my agency, but still my status at BCIS says the same.

I don't know what is happening.. should I be worried? Others with the same agency had their rfe received by BCIS and their status changed. Is it possible that BCIS had neglected my rfe or just did not receive it? Or I don't know. I'm confused...

This is what it says:

"Application Type: I140, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER

Current Status:

On November 21, 2005, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."
