USA FNP program alumni needed for questions.

Hello, I am currently in my clinical rotation for the FNP program at University of South Alabama. I am overwhelmed with the amount of reading we have, and scared to death that I won't make it. Any alumni of USA's FNP program here for me to ask what I can expect from here on? How hard is the clinical portion? Thanks in advance.

I am not an alumni but I am also beginning my first clinical semester and my god the reading is ridiculous! I have heard that the clinical paperwork is a bear but I am thinking that is referring to the next 3 semesters! Hang in there! We CAN do this!!!

First clinical semester at USA/FNP too! (Hi graceofone!) I wonder if the reading will ever get done!!!

At the rate I'm going... NOT

But my paperwork is ahead.:yeah: Let's hope I stay that way.

I am in Fall Clinicals with you guys. OMG...I still can't find 2 of my 4 hour sites....and the 40 hour preceptor hasn't returned my call. I have about finished the reading for the first exam...but not near there for the next exam. I am setting up a study group if any of you are in central/South Mississippi!! PM me...

I can't find my 40 hr. preceptor either. Is primary care the same as family practice? Because I've been calling family practitioners for my 40hrs this semester.

I have all my observations scheduled over the last 2 weeks of Sept. I have a meet and greet sched with an NP and MD this month. They work in the same office and I'll do hours with both.

I am way behind on reading. I really can't get much done being home with the baby! I do have my assessment almost done.

Blessedx3,

Your PM box is full. Can't send you anything until you clear memory. LOL. Here is my message anyhow.

Unfortunately, I am in Baldwin County, no where near Hattiesburg. Thank you though. I've been calling the USA's clinic sites, but they are not quick to call back. At this point, I think I'll just show up and talk to someone.

How are you doing with the assignments and reading?

I am through all but the first 2 Hay Chapters for 568....But I still have to go back and make note cards with specifics...I do the National Cert review workbook after each section on ears or eyes--to make sure I am comprehending...I am only scoring about 75 %--but just starting....Haven't started fr 571....Assess is done--but not the database...Someone said that took 8 hours...Geneology map is pretty much finished. Stil have a few contracts to type for our meet and greet with preceptor on Tuesday....

The National Cert review? Is that a separate book you bought?

The database did take me a long time, and I am finished with the genogram as well. But I am not absorbing what I am reading... YIKES!!! I really have to review the study guides... We have one week:eek:
