From what I have read, it depends on the unit and location. Specialty units seem to be "safer" and I can only speak from experience that Kaiser Lakeview in Orange County was the scariest, filthiest and most out of whack facility I have EVER worked in hands down.
After 10 years of registry nursing I can say without a doubt I would NEVER want a friend or family member to be treated there. Maybe the new facility in Irvine has upgraded it's standards but Kaiser in general is always in the news for something, patient dumping etc. I wouldn't want to be affiliated with them.

which Kaiser are you talking about? I have worked at Kaiser Sacramento and done rotations at Kaiser Oakland, Hayward and Walnut Creek so I could provide some insight on some of those if you want ... they defintely vary!

You cannot pigeonhole an entire company by one facility. There are some that are wonderful and some that are not.
You need to check out the specific facility and then go from there.
The ones in the Bay Area have excellent reputations.
