UPMC Passavant???

Published

Does anyone know if there is a sign-on bonus at Passavant hospital? Or how there shifts are, benifits, how much do they pay for you to continue your education, etc... I wanted to look into this place, but I can't seem to get anyone to call me back. If anyone has any info, please let me know! Thanks a bunch

Hi Cheripa,

I'm not sure if you're still here or not, but did you ever find out this info?

I too would be curious to know about Passavant. That would be my dream job as it's only minutes from my house!

Although, I understand a teaching hospital can give so much more of an experience, moreso than community hospitals. I've heard the staff is awesome at Passvant though.

Anyone go through CCAC North? I'm wondering what hospital the clinicals were at.

Thanks, and good luck to you.

KittyHawk,

My mom just retired from the Trauma Unit at Allegheny General and Im almost 100% positive that she said that CCAC's nursing students had their clinicals at AGH.

Hope I helped. Feel free to PM me. :)

CCAC does go to AGH for clinicals.

Try this link, I believe all UPMC facilities are the same.

UPMC tries to make it's benefits systemwide, but there are some differences between it's ?19? area hospitals and various acquisitions. If you work in the city, you will usually make a higher wage, but get stuck with dealing with traffic and paying for parking. (consider, for example, UPMC shadyside employees have to pay approx. $75/mo for parking. The health benefits and costs vary slightly, too.

FYI....CCAC Clinical sites vary depending on the campus. Allegheny Campus goes to AGH but other campuses go to other sites. North Campus does spend some time at Passavant. You need to check with the nursing dept for the campus you are interested in.
