I haven't written on here in a long time!! I have wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember. But I really haven't fully pursued it as of yet. I did start pre reqs about 10 years ago, but then started a family... Up to now I just couldn't figure out a way to do it! My family relies on my salary and health benefits. Hubby is a type 1 diabetic and couldn't get health insurance on his own... So I dropped out, switched gears, and earned a bachelors in general studies.
Now I'm considering nursing once again. We have more options for health insurance (yay!) so I feel a little more free to pursue this. Nursing school will mean I won't be gainfully employed for a while, but I'm hoping that I can use the couple of years it will take me to take pre reqs that i will be able to plan financially.
Maybe it's the fact that my 40th bday is just a couple of years away...
Anyhoo.... That's it. Just wanted to reach out and share. If anyone has any words of encouragement -- bring it on!!
