IMHO, First of all GOOD LUCK!! I wanted to postpone my test date too, but then I didn't and am glad I got it over with and passed. I had been out of nursing school for over a year before taking NCLEX for the 1st time. I only studied CD-ROMs the weeks prior to NCLEX. I too felt like I had done all the studying/answering questions I could do. I got around 263 or was it all 265...well I still passed. I would go with my gut on this one, and do what you feel is necessary, might I add though, that after leaving the test site I felt like I should have waited and started the anticipatory grief process of well I could retest in 45 days, now I have to come up with another $200, but that's okay I don't have to eat everyday...LOL

Hi and thank for responding...I have done over 3200 questions. Kaplan, Mosby, Lippincott and Saunders. The Kaplan questions are on a disk. The prioritization questions are my strong suit. It is the maturnity and psych that are challenging at times. We actually had a class in bioterrorim in my school, so that helps.

I feel I was a lot more confident before I recieved that email.

All the nurses I work with tell me I am worrying too much...Maybe they are right...:stone

How many actual questions have you been doing? You should be doing at least 100 per day, and have done about 3000 to 4000 questions.

And remember that this exam, also is influenced by how well you do with taking this type of exam.......are you understanding why the incorrrect answers were wrong? I would also make sure to spend time going over that.

Also, take into account that if you don't pass, you will have to wait at least 45 days before retaking the exam, and in some states they require 90 days.

Have you spent any time on triage and disaster planning? Many questions are now priority based, and unfortunately they don't teach that in the US nursing programs, at least not yet.

Hope this helps you make an educated decision, not just because you want it.
