Unions

I hear that some hospitals in Colorado are unionized. Is this true? If so which ones in the Denver area. Wonder if salaries vary between union and non-union hospitals. Is it really a benefit to be in the union?

Come on you guys, it's not a hard question!!! Denver area hospitals union or not?

I know years ago I worked in Seattle and at least some of those were in a union. I have never worked in a hospital that had a union. I wonder if the working conditions and pay really any better than hospitals without.:o

I'm not a spy, but I know in some areas talking about unions is a touchy subject. I'm really not much in favor of unions, born and raised in Kansas, a right to work state.

Saint Joe's is and Kaiser. VA? (not sure). Other than that no unions. No real difference in salaries.

Colorado is a hybrid state. They can't force you to join the union but they can force you to pay for the contracting services.

Actually the Kaiser Nurses at St. Joes (and elsewhere) are union. The SIEU also represents Mental Health Care of Denver nurses (not sure where that is). UAN represents Denver VA nurses according to their website. SIEU used to represent the Non nurses at Saint A's. Not sure if they do any more.
