Not all are union, I belong to the MNA and the dues are ourageous but you have the ability to either be with the MNA ot not. I heard that ST Vincent in Worcester aka Med City was not union by a nurse of 19 yrs experience. So my suggestion would be to check out the facility you plan to work in, upon interviewing ask if the facility has union representation. Hope this helps Umass main campus does not have a union but Umass memorial does?????

Not all hospitals in MA are union. Beth Isreal, Mass General, and Baystate Medical Center are definately non-union.

The nurses of St. Vincent Hospital @ Worcester Medical Center held one of the longest MNA Union strikes a few years back. They are definately a union hospital.

Please keep in mind the the MNA is a big union. However, some facilities have different unions for their nurses. The Veteran's Hospital nurses are represented by different unions. It all depends, one thing to consider is that most of these hospitals have been union for a long time (decades).

Its upsetting to see places that don't get unionized because of BS.

Umass University (AKA the Medical Center, Aka Umass Medical Center, AKA University Campus) are represented by the MNA, however a different unit. Same thing with Umass Memorial.

It is important to note that up until the late 90s Umass Memorial and the University campus were 2 seperate hospitals.

UMass University was Owned/Operated by the State as a teaching hospital for the Umass Medical School Students. Now it is operated by the corporation but all the employees (with the exception of Medical School Personal like teachers, campus police, etc.) are employees of the Umass Memorial Corporation, not the state.
