Hi all. I'm writing in hopes that SOMEONE can help me answer this as I'm not getting any answers (at least not fast enough) and time is of the essence.
I attend NVCC right now I'm enrolled in a General Chemistry course. I just attended the information session at Shady Grove on Friday and found out that intro Chemistry is not accepted. So of course I was a little confused since my course name was General chemistry but it said into in the description. I went to class today (first day of the semester) and my professor cleared things up as there were MANY students who signed up for this course but didn't know it was an introductory course. I've called and I also emailed admissions to ask them which chemistry course would be accepted to apply to UMSON. Out of those are CHM 111-College Chemistry, CHM 241-Organic Chemistry, and CHM 260-Intro to Biochem. My professor said as soon as they let me know which one I need she could find a seat for me in a different course but like I said, the semester started today so it's important I find out ASAP. I'm positive Organic Chemistry is accepted but the only problem with that is I would have needed to take CHM 111 first. So I guess the biggest question is, is CHM 111(College Chemistry) accepted for UMSON? I'm still waiting for a reply from admissions. Can ANYONE help?

First of all, you need to take a chemistry class with a lab. I'm not sure if your school does them separate or together. Most do them separate so you would have to take both classes. I'm pretty sure it isn't organic chemistry either as that isn't a general chemistry class. You are looking for an inorganic basic chemistry class.
I'm not quite sure what is the difference between the general chemistry class and the intro chemistry class you speak of so I can't really speak on that.
Wow! Thank you for the link! It's not showing here for some reason but I got it and that helped alot... Now I know what my course is equivalent to, now all I need to know is which one they want.

I don't have much more to offer than the previous poster. But I'm working on my pre-reqs for UMSON right now so I'd like to say good luck! I'd love to hear more about your experiences as you continue with the process! :)
All the Chemistry classes at NVCC have labs so that wasn't an issue, the hard part was determining what was high enough for them to accept. So after calling them and emailing them, I took the drive up to Baltimore campus from Arlington. LOL. Yup. I figured the best way to get answers was to meet with someone face to face. Especially with them trying to go over applications for Fall session, answering my emails was probably last on their agenda. But they did tell me that the class I am currently in, is indeed good to apply for the program. I am so relieved!
